We Built Zanqetra Because
Gaming Deserves Better

Gaming is one of the most complex and creative forms of human expression. It deserves a platform that takes it seriously — not as a product category, but as a cultural force worth understanding.

Knowledge-First Gaming Content

Zanqetra exists to fill a gap. Most gaming platforms are either news aggregators focused on the latest releases, or entertainment focused on spectacle. Very few make a genuine effort to help their audience understand gaming as a medium — its history, its craft, its culture and its significance.

We think that understanding makes the experience of playing games richer. When you know where a genre came from, or understand why a particular design decision was made, or recognise the cultural context a game emerged from — it adds a layer of appreciation that casual consumption doesn't provide.

That's what Zanqetra is for. Not to tell you what to play, or to cover gaming news in real time, but to help you develop a genuine, informed relationship with the medium you already love.

Our Editorial Values

Editorial Honesty

We write what we believe, not what anyone pays us to say. No sponsored opinions, no advertorials, no manufactured enthusiasm.

Learning First

Every piece of content we create — articles, quizzes, knowledge paths — is designed to leave you knowing more than when you started.

Inclusive by Design

Gaming knowledge shouldn't be gatekept. We write for newcomers and veterans alike, without condescension in either direction.

Privacy Respected

We collect only what we need to operate. Your data is never sold, and we're transparent about how and why we use what we collect.

How Zanqetra Came Together

2022
The Idea
Marcus Delano, then writing for a gaming publication, noticed how little educational gaming content existed online. Most content was either news or entertainment. Nobody was building something focused on genuine learning.
Early 2023
Building the Team
James Whitfield and Sofia Herranz joined the project. Over six months, the three of them defined Zanqetra's editorial philosophy, content structure and quiz format.
Late 2023
First Content
The first batch of articles and quizzes went live. Feedback from early users shaped the knowledge path structure and the approach to quiz question design.
2024
Community Growth
Camila Reyes joined as Community Manager. Zanqetra grew to over 18,000 registered visitors, with content spanning five major knowledge areas.
2025
Expansion
New quiz formats, longer editorial features and the launch of Zanqetra's updated platform. The mission remains the same: help people understand gaming better.
